Amalie Robert Estate seeks national and export representation
Amalie Robert Estate is seeking to expand our national and international representation. While we may be new to you, we have been growing word class Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and cool climate Syrah since the turn of the century in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley. If you are interested in learning more about representing Amalie Robert Estate (ARE) wines, please take the tour.
Kindest Regards,
Dena and Ernie
The self guided tour begins here! Please address any follow-on questions to Dena Drews at dena@amalierobert.com.
1) First things first: Who ARE those guys?
2) Who is Amalie Robert Estate and what is a Julian Calendar? “Bob, I think I got here too late, you have your cherry orchard on top of my vineyard.” That’s how it started. Please follow this link to read the full story. You can see the vineyard soil profile here (good dirt.)
We are strong believers in an educated wine consumer. We produce a yearly Julian Calendar to track the growing season. This monthly update provides growing season information and a photo journal wrapped in a bit of farming humor. We share this with our trade partners as well as wine consumers.
We believe “brand terroir” is very important in differentiating our wines and creating pull through demand. There is a story behind every bottle and the good folks at Vinestories have captured ours here.
3) Tell me how you found your Pinot Noir groove. You always remember your first – bottle of Domain Dujac that is! Pinot Noir found us in Paris. Here is how it went down.
4) Let me see what you’ve got to work with. The following link provides a list of our current release wines, accolades, retail prices and availability. Also, there is a free cork in every bottle – no screw caps.
5) I am still not convinced. You don’t have to take our word for it, check out What Other People Are Saying (WOPAS.)
6) The Pitch Looking for a more structured approach? Here is the standard pitch.

This cover letter introduces Amalie Robert Estate. We are an Oregon winery focused on producing premium Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah. We are seeking national and international representation with partners whose portfolio may benefit from the Amalie Robert Estate brand. A full media kit is available on our web site www.amalierobert.com.
Amalie Robert Estate is owned by Dena Drews and Ernie Pink. We purchased 60 prime acres of south facing Willamette Valley hillside in 1999. We have developed 30 acres of producing vines and a gravity flow winery capable of producing over 5,000 cases. All of our wines are estate grown and bottled.
Our first careers were in the hi-tech industry, and winegrowing is a second, full-time career – we live on-site. We learned winegrowing from the ground up, literally. We began by removing a cherry orchard, and with the help of some of Oregon’s pioneers began planting and tending vines. Our first harvest was 2002, and our first commercial release was the 2003 vintage.
We have refined our winegrowing and winemaking through the help of our vineyard customers, namely Steve Doerner of Cristom, and Mike Etzel of Beaux Frères. Steve and Mike were among our first fruit customers, and we continue providing Pinot Noir grapes to Cristom.
Our wine style frames our efforts in the vineyard first and foremost. We ferment with whole clusters, indigenous yeast from our own vineyard, and allow our wines to mature in barrel for 12 – 18 months. We release our wines when we think they are ready to be enjoyed with a meal, not when a banker tells us to. As our knowledge and experience has grown, we have increased our Pinot Noir production from a scant 210 cases in 2003 to approximately 3,500 cases from the 2010 vintage.
Cleary, this was not the easiest way to build a wine brand. However, we believe we have a compelling story that is not only interesting, but actually happened. It is our hope that this letter leaves you intrigued to learn more.
Kindest regards,
Dena Drews Ernie Pink
